As a professional badminton player, I train more than 20 hours per week to reach my sports objectives. I have been part of the national elite for more than 10 years.
My road has driven me to participate to all the biggest international competitions: 2 participations at the Olympic Games (London 2012, Rio 2016), 9 consecutive participations at the idividual World Championships, 6 consecutive participations at the individual European Championships (from 2006 to 2017), as well as many international competitions all around the world.
But how did this all start?
I hit my first shuttlecock in my first club in the Chaux-de-Fonds (BC la Chaux-de-Fonds) at the age of 12. I immediately fell inlove with this sport and became a growing passion!
On the other hand, during the first years, far from me to believe that I could make an international career out of it!
I have always gone to the trainings with the envy to progress and with a lot of serious. It took me a lot of years to believe in my potential and to finally realise that I could
reach an internationnal level.
During my first international years (from 2005 to about 2010), I juggled between all the categories (women's single, women's double and mixed doubles), by even training mainly for the doubles, before deciding to change direction at the age of 23 and to focus on the women's simple so that I could make my dream come true: participate at the London Olympic Games in 2012. And it worked! That same year I got 5th rank at the individuals European Championships (a result that opened me the doors to the Olympic Games).
Alongside of my international athlete career, I found time to do a formation. I started studying at the Haute Ecole Fédérale du Sport de Macolin in 2007. After an unusual university course (less hours so I could train, as well as a 2 year break in the middle of the course so that I could focus on my sport) I finally acquired my Bachelor in "Sports and Education Science" in 2014. Since then, I focus a hundred percent on my athlete career.
So here we are, my unusual journey, during which I focused on competitive sport very late, allowed me to live incredible experiences.
Today, at 30 years old, I am all as much motivated to climb more peaks. I look forward to the upcoming challenges that await me in my forthcoming athlete career.
